IED – Istituto Europeo di Design, in addition to Milan, has venues in many cities both in and out of Italy. In Como, for example, is the Academy of Fine Arts, a part of the IED network overseen by the president Salvatore Amura. The Academy of Fine Arts represents a centre of excellence in the field of high-level art training. Recognized by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (Italy), for over thirty-five years the Academy has been involved with the restoration work of paintings, tablets, and murals. The fundamental difference with other institutions is that teaching consists of laboratory activities that, from the first year, are developed in collaboration with companies, organizations and local institutions, to develop the creativity and professionalism of each individual student. Aldo Galli- IED Academy of Fine Arts in Como, is a school that wants as its first objective, to value the culture of Made in Italy with a particular focus dedicated to innovation in fashion, visual arts, communication and conservation of cultural heritage.
